The Audio Technica ATH-CKS50TW wireless earphones have accomplished what they set out to achieve – to deliver bass that’s powerful enough to really make you sit up and take notice.

The CKS50TW earphones bring together advanced acoustic technology that provides that deep bass while the earphone’s comfortable design and airtight fit prevents the bass from escaping from anywhere else but through the ear tip and into your ears.

The drivers are 9mm wide with ducts on the back to control airflow and provide acoustic detail.

The Audio Technica ATH-CKS50TW wireless earphones are slightly larger than other models but the ear tip extends so it can be positioned so the buds can rest comfortably on your rather than deeper inside your ear.

They still fit securely and will stay in place even if you’re exercising or running or walking.

The headphones have an IPX4 rating, so they are splashproof and OK to wear in the gym and while you’re sweating it out or if you get caught in the rain.

And they sound great.

The bass really has to be heard to be appreciated but we can say it’s some of the best most powerful bass you’ll hear on a pair of earphones.

Even some headphones would struggle to match this level of bass.

And the impressive thing about this is the bass, while being quite powerful, doesn’t take over the whole show.

There’s still plenty of room for the mids and highs to move and the result is a rich and robust sound.

The earphones offer active noise cancellation which does a good job eliminating ambient sound whether it’s the outside noise or on public transport or noisy offices and households as well.

But there are times when you need to hear what’s happening around you and the Audio Technica earphones uses its built-in microphones in Hear Through mode to let your surroundings in while still enjoying your music or podcast.

And that includes that stunning bass.

The Audio Technica ATH-CKS50TW wireless earphones are also 360 Reality Audio certified which uses Sony’s object-based 360 Spatial Sound Technology so individual sounds and instruments can be placed on a spherical sound field.

This requires subscription to compatible music services.

The Audio Technica ATH-CKS50TW wireless earphones also offer clear and crisp calls.

Onboard is a feature called sidetone so you can hear your own voice as well as the person you’re speaking to.

This prevents users speaking louder than they need to – this an issue we’ve all heard when people are on the phone and talking through their earphones.

The people around you in the office or on public transport will really appreciate this feature. You don’t want to be that annoying loudmouth.

Each earbud has a small, easily locatable button with the left button controlling volume and the right controlling your music playback.

AudioTechnicaCKS50TW4

The positioning of the buttons is interesting – it’s on top of the earbud and we always hit the buttons when we were putting them on. We would have placed them at the back.

The Audio Technica Control app also places more control in your hand with the ability to choose from four pre-set equaliser settings or set your own.

You can also change the volume step adjustment so the button can be adjusted at 16, 32 or 64 levels of volume for more fine-tuned control.

AudioTechnicaCKS50TW5

The other remarkable thing about the Audio Technica ATH-CKS50TW wireless earphones is the battery life which runs at 20 hours – just in the earphones.

With the case that takes it up to 50 hours of power. And a quick charge of just 10 minutes will give you 90 minutes of playback.

What helps maintain the battery life is the fact you can power off each earphone individually directly on the bud.

AudioTechnicaCKS50TW9

And if you’re an Android user, the earphones support Android Fast Pair so a pop-appears so they can be paired on the home screen.

The Audio Technica ATH-CKS50TW wireless earphones are available now are priced at $249. VERDICT

The Audio Technica ATH-CKS50TW wireless earphones offer a stunning sound with crisp clear audio, next-level bass and one of the longest battery performances on the market. It adds up to a high-quality, yet affordable, experience.
